Artist Biography
Rap duo Kinfolk Thugs go from hedonistic to confrontational while representing the streets of Memphis in the wake of Hustle & Flow. GC Eternal and Tyme Bomb debuted as Kinfolk Thugs the year that film put a spotlight on their hometown, and released a handful of independent mixtapes -- multiple volumes of their We Don't Play That series -- before they recorded the 2008 single "Dumptruck" on Rap-A-Lot. Long after the pair issued additional tapes into the early 2010s, "Dumptruck" aka "Back It Up and Dump It" (or "Dump Truck [Back It Up and Dump It]") went viral, prompting them to return in 2024 after a long hiatus with Back to Business. The EP-length release featured a club update of "Dump Truck (Back It Up and Dump It)" and a handful of new tracks including the slow jam "Back Seat" with Ladawn the Chameleon. ~ TiVo Staff
