• He took a break from music while attending San Diego State University, where he studied special education and played linebacker for the football team.
• The viral success of his braggadocious 2018 single “Right Wit It” spawned a remix from superstar YG.
• Kalan’s feature-free 2019 project Leak The Tape arrived after the rapper started the #LeakTheTape hashtag on social media. He was apparently frustrated with not being able to drop the project.
