About Jawga Boyz
Artist Biography
With their raucous “hick-hop” sound, the country-rap group Jawga Boyz went from the barnyard to the Billboard charts in the early 2010s.
• The group formed in Athens, Georgia, in 2003 but didn’t release their debut album, Kuntry, until 2011. It features the redneck anthem “Ridin High.”
• The Jawga Boyz cite Southern artists like OutKast, Rehab, and Bubba Sparxxx as inspirations.
• Their third album, 2013’s Reloaded 1 hit No. 25 on Billboard’s Top Rap Albums chart. The following year’s Tailgate Music cracked the Top 20 on that chart and made a respectable showing on the Top Country Albums tally.
