Tyler Carter, former vocalist for metalcore outfit Woe, Is Me, formed the Atlanta band Issues as a way to incorporate his love of pop music into a more hard rock sound.
∙ The buzz around their 2012 EP, Black Diamonds, earned them an invitation to contribute to the Punk Goes Pop series, for which they covered Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend.”
∙ Issues’ self-titled debut made Kerrang!’s list of The Top 50 Rock Albums of 2014 and won Artist of the Year honors at the Alternative Press Music Awards.
∙ The 2016 album Headspace, which included more overt R&B references on fan favorites like “COMA,” hit #1 on Billboard’s Alternative and Hard Rock charts.
∙ In a complete departure from rock, Carter scored a Top 10 R&B album with his 2015 solo EP, Leave Your Love.
