Artist Biography
In 2010, after writing and recording “Color,” the theme song of the anime series Freezing, J-pop singer MARiA and composer/arranger toku decided to become a permanent duo, calling themselves GARNiDELiA.
∙ The duo’s name was inspired by combining the phrase, “Le Palais Garnier de Maria” (“Maria’s Opera House”), and "Cordelia," the name of an asteroid discovered in 1978, the year toku was born.
∙ Eleven consecutive GARNiDELiA singles—from 2014’s “ambiguous” to 2019’s “Rebel Flag”—were used in an anime series or film.
∙ Their digital single “star trail” was chosen as the opening theme for the 2020 season of Japanese music series Buzz Rhythm 02.
