Dominican bachata singer Frank Reyes was discovered by a talent scout while working at a grocery store, and he began recording his 1991 debut, Tu Seras Mi Reina, only a week later.
∙ He earned the title Prince of Bachata in 2002, when his breakthrough single, “Nada de Nada,” made the Top 10 of Billboard’s Tropical Airplay chart.
∙ The ultraromantic title track from his 2014 album, Noche de Pasión, was a US Latin radio hit and spent five months on the Dominican charts.
∙ Reyes, a two-time Latin Grammy nominee, was twice honored as Bachatero of the Year by Premios Soberano, a prominent Dominican awards show.
∙ Bachata star Romeo Santos tapped him to guest on “Payasos,” from the Platinum-certified Utopía, which Rolling Stone ranked as one of the 25 Best Latin Albums of 2019.
