About Blossoms
Artist Biography
Blossoms frontman Tom Ogden and drummer Joe Donovan first met on a school trip to a theme park—a reward for good attendance.
∙ The group’s first rehearsal space was a room at a scaffolding yard owned by bassist Charlie Salt’s grandfather, a site also pictured on the cover of the band’s debut album.
∙ James Skelly, lead singer of The Coral, signed Blossoms to his Skeleton Key label in 2014 and has produced most of the band’s music.
∙ Their 2016 self-titled debut LP topped the UK album charts, a feat they repeated with 2020’s Foolish Loving Spaces.
∙ The album Blossoms was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Prize in 2017.
∙ Their 2019 single “Your Girlfriend” was partially inspired by a confessional blog post that Ogden found while fleshing out the song.
∙ Blossoms: Back to Stockport, a documentary about the band’s huge 2019 concert in their hometown of Stockport, England, was released in 2020.
