Hailing from Remshalden near Stuttgart, Jasmin Stocker seemed destined for a life defined by music, thanks to the singing competitions she entered as a child and her study of jazz, production and composition at university. She took an old nickname—Mine—as her stage name and set about writing pop songs from a blueprint all her own. Elements of hip-hop, synth-pop and indie pop inform her forward-thinking style but her jazz background is at the heart of her freeform approach, inspiring the experimental feel of hits like “Du scheinst”.
