About Youngr
Artist Biography
Youngr is a solo outlet for Dario Darnell, a songwriter, producer, instrumentalist, and vocalist who makes eclectic, slightly left-of-center pop. The son of August Darnell, aka Kid Creole, Darnell made his (presumably) first recorded appearance on his father's To Travel Sideways. One of its songs featured wind chimes from him and sibling Lorne Ashley Brigham-Bowes, youngsters whose musical association extended into adulthood. During the late 2000s, the brothers recorded and performed as Picture Book, and in 2013, they co-wrote Cher's "My Love." As Youngr, Darnell released a handful of tracks across the latter half of 2016 and early 2017, including the free-spirited party track "Out of My System" and the ballad "Too Keen," and remixed Tove Lo's "True Disaster." ~ Andy Kellman
