Artist Biography

After leading British Invasion hitmakers The Spencer Davis Group as a teen, Steve Winwood set out for parts unknown with Traffic, concocting a visionary fusion of psychedelia, folk, jazz, and soul that anticipated the rise of prog rock in the ‘70s.
