It may sound hyperbolic to say South Border are legendary, but their pop and R&B contributions to ‘90s OPM deserves such acclaim. Fronted by veteran keyboardist and vocalist Jay Durias, the band’s soulful love classics include “Kahit Kailan” and “Ikaw Nga”, and they have steadfastly bred award-winning pop and R&B serenades since forming in 1993. Magnum opus “Rainbow” sealed their national success, with its breezy melody, lush keyboards and hope-filled lyricism. South Border’s music feels like a warm embrace, a product of pure artistry and passion that’s still bursting with possibilities for years to come.
