In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I spent the first months of my life in an upright Bass case, because my parents couldn't afford a crib. Music is a sanctuary to me. Growing up in The Bahamas, age three I watched my first Junkanoo festival, the drums spoke to my heart, and still do.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Björk, Homogenic Pink Floyd, The Dark Side of the Moon Remastered Run The Jewels, RTJ4 These three albums changed my life. They created a space my heart can call home. The raw emotion and innovation displayed in each album inspired me, and shape me into the alien I am. These artists helped me discover my true self.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Strange Fruit” I felt a deep emotions, and cried while covering this song. It's weighted with profound lyrics centered around the lynching of African Americans in the Southern United States during the Jim Crow Era. It was one of the first protest songs in America.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of the most profound moments in my career was when my song helped a thirteen year old boy decide to not kill himself. He told me I stop his suicide. He was from the South, and was being bullied for being homosexual and not fitting in.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I want to create epic soundtrack music and combine my music with my paintings, video, and photography. To take people on a sonic and visual journey that touches the heart. I'd also love to direct music videos and produce for other artists.
