Pain of Salvation is a highly intellectual, progressive rock band based in Sweden. Since the band’s 1997 debut album, ENTROPIA, Pain of Salvation has evolved from a Queensrÿche and Dream Theater-inspired technical metal band into a stylized, heavily syncopated fusion powerhouse. With a penchant for rock opera-styled conceptual albums, the band's lyrical themes encompass heavy musings on God and existence. Pain of Salvation is led by guitarist/vocalist/philosopher Daniel Gildenlöw, who has also made a name for himself in progressive circles performing with OSI, Transatlantic, the Flower Kings, and others.
