Only 11 years old when he notched his first hit single, Billy Gilman was the youngest performer ever to reach the Billboard country charts. The Westerly, Rhode Island native was singing before he started school and developed rapidly enough to start performing publicly at age seven. Gilman completed his debut album, One Voice, which featured a duet with fellow vocal prodigy Charlotte Church in 2000. Several albums followed during the 2000s, but Gilman gained fame in the mid-2010s when he participated in The Voice, eventually ending as the runner-up to Sundance Head in late 2016. ~ Steve Huey
