During her teenage years, model/musician Yumi Nu juggled two passions: between modeling gigs, she took singing lessons and wrote and recorded her first song at the age of 16. Her uncle, electronic heavyweight Steve Aoki, provided an outlet for her musical endeavors with his label Dim Mak Records, on which Nu released her debut EP, Ego Boost, in 2019. Having created her own plus-size clothing line, Blueki, in the early 2020s, Nu returned to music with 2021 single “Bouquets” before issuing sophomore EP Hajime in May 2022.
