Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I thought I would be the one to become the sixth member of the Backstreet Boys - then I heard myself sing horribly on the answering machine. The long road of the music journey started right there.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Brantley Gilbert, A Modern Day Prodigal Son Eagles, Eagles Kenny Chesney, When the Sun Goes Down Modern Day Prodigal Son got me into Country music. The Eagles are my favorite band and this album got them started. When The Sun Goes Down is a sonic masterpiece - there is not a bad song on this album and nothing hits harder on the lake.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Lottery” Lottery was one of the first songs I co-wrote in Nashville. It was also the first music video I ever filmed and had so much fun during that process. I love the melody of the song and I think the production was the first step in defining my sound.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I learned to play guitar and sing in my dorm room at UGA freshman year of college to old Alan Jackson songs. Getting to open a concert for him in our hometown Newnan, GA ten years later has definitely been a career highlight for me.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? The call-to-the-big leagues moment I am anxiously awaiting is the opportunity to play the legendary Grand Ole Opry for the first time. Down the road, yeah I'd like to win a Grammy! But, baby steps...
