An Australian duo taking inspiration from the most sinister and doomily romantic parts of post-punk, synth pop, and coldwave, White Hex features Tara Green and Jimi Kritzler, also of fiery post-punk revivalists Slug Guts. The group formed in 2011. After a stint in Egypt, the pair found themselves in Berlin, where they recorded their brooding debut mini-album Heat, released in 2012. Kritzler and Green returned to their homeland, this time settling in Melbourne, and began working on new music. Inspired by Italo disco, high fashion, and '80s techno, among other things, White Hex collaborated with producer Alex Akers on Gold Nights, a sleek set of songs released by Felte in 2014. ~ Heather Phares
