Vive la Void is the solo project of Moon Duo keyboardist Sanae Yamada. Like her work with that group, Vive la Void is awash with spacy synths, as well as elements of coldwave and dream pop. A classically trained musician and former schoolteacher, Yamada worked on her own music during gaps in Moon Duo's schedule, crafting hypnotic songs centered around her keyboards and reflections on perception and memory. The results were Vive la Void's self-titled debut album, released by Sacred Bones in May 2018. ~ Heather Phares
