Formed in Alabama by the husband/wife duo of Kevin and Anita Robinson (both on vocals and various instruments), Viva Voce had a rough start to their career, but hit their stride after the eclectic indie-rock act relocated to Portland, Oregon in 2002. Following a pair of lauded, though somewhat overlooked, albums, the pair signed to Barsuk Records, and issued GET YR BLOOD SUCKED OUT in ’06, resulting in tours with the Shins and Jimmy Eat World, and a notably wider audience.
