Joseph Bruce, aka Violent J, is one half of the Detroit horror-carnival-inspired hip-hop duo, Insane Clown Posse. J developed the concept for the group with his partner, Shaggy 2 Dope, in 1989. By 1992, they started their own record label, Psychopathic, and released their first LP, CARNIVAL OF CARNAGE. Concurrently, J set out on a professional wrestling career, which would eventually culminate in appearances for World Wrestling Entertainment by the late-’90s. In 2003, he finally released his inaugural solo album, WIZARD OF THE HOOD. And after spending the next half-decade helping groom Psychopathic’s roster, J returned in 2009 with THE SHINING.
Violent J has also released music as a member of Psychopathic Rydas, Inner City Posse, Zug Izland, The Entire Hatchet Family, Insane Clown Posse, Soopa Villainz, and The Killjoy Club.
