Village of the Sun is a loose-knit, 21st century spiritual jazz trio whose members are saxophonist Binker Golding, drummer Moses Boyd, and Basement Jaxx keyboardist/multi-instrumentalist Simon Ratcliffe. The group's sound embodies uplifting, long-form spiritual and modal jazz innovations introduced by Alice Coltrane, Pharoah Sanders, Gato Barbieri, and Airto Moreira filtered through layers of ambient and EDM textures and global rhythms. Their debut album, First Light, was released by Gearbox in 2022.
