In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I did not start playing the guitar till I was 17. More so, I assumed every musician had to learn to perform and write their own songs. Therefore, I did not released music until I was 21 and confident that I could write, play the guitar and perform.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Benjamin Clementine, At Least for Now Bon Iver, For Emma, Forever Ago Childish Gambino, "Awaken, My Love!" These albums have helped me gain confidence in experimenting with my music. The vocal delivery, do it yourselfer approach, and the hauntingly lovely approach to song writing inspire the kind of music I make.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Riverbank” This idea of this song came from a cheesy promise to a date saying "what good are these memories if I don't write you a song". It's amazing how a song I wrote about someone has become so relatable and been a sing along at my live shows.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? A real memorable triumph for me was an 8-minute acoustic set at Bassline festival Johannesburg, where I gave an emotional, nuanced, and moving performances which won me many South African devotees. It was the kind of excitement for a stage dive.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? As I eye the coming years, I am keen to defeats stereotypes of what music produced in Africa circa 2020 sounds like. There's a forthcoming body of work being prepared for the road. “It may or may not take a while, but I am gonna get my flowers.
