One of the more rock-oriented acts on the Ninja Tune electronica/hip-hop label, the Qemists are a British drum'n'bass ensemble. Based in Brighton and coming from a collective non-techno background, the group channeled its considerable energy into a formidable, heavy yet danceable sound on its full-length debut, Join the Q, which features Faith No More frontman Mike Patton and grime icon Wiley. They continued with 2010's Spirit in the System, which featured Enter Shikari on "Take It Back." A year later, they followed with Soundsystem, a mix album that combined new songs, remixes, and even some a cappella versions of older tracks.
