Since 2006, The Growlers have been weaving early-’60s surf music, post-Strokes garage rock, and woozy psychedelic synth-pop into a sound they’ve dubbed “beach goth” (also the name of the carnivalesque annual music festival they’ve hosted in L.A. since 2012).
