About The Fratellis
Artist Biography
Like the Ramones, the Scottish indie-rock trio The Fratellis united under an adopted surname to write rowdy songs inspired by their favorite musical forefathers.
∙ The Fratellis’ debut LP, 2006’s Costello Music, went triple-Platinum in the UK on the strength of their back-to-back Top 10 singles, “Chelsea Dagger” and “Whistle for the Choir.”
∙ After the global success of Costello Music, the band won British Breakthrough Act at the 2007 BRIT Awards.
∙ The soundtrack for the 2007 comedy Hot Fuzz featured two Fratellis tracks: their own “Baby Fratelli” and their cover of T. Rex’s 1972 hit “Solid Gold Easy Action.”
∙ “Look Out Sunshine!,” from their sophomore LP, Here We Stand, became the band’s first No. 1 hit when it topped the Scottish singles chart in 2008.
∙ On their sixth LP, 2020’s Half Drunk Under a Full Moon, they worked with Grammy-nominated producer Tony Hoffer (Beck, Depeche Mode, M83).
∙ In 2020, they collaborated with soul singer P.P. Arnold (Tina Turner, Small Faces) for the joint charity single “Strangers in the Street,” released to raise money for COVID-19 pandemic relief.
