Artist Biography
Hailing from the Cleveland, Ohio one of the most important towns for visceral genre bending rock during the early-70s pre-punk era, the Electric Eels were easily the most dangerous of the city's bands. Embracing a confrontational, decidedly un-PC aesthetic and approach, and a sound so cacophonous for the times it made Captain Beefheart seem positively toe-tapping, the Electric Eels were indeed a prototype for punk. And anthems such as "Cyclotrone," "Agitated," and "Jaguar Ride" remain as visceral and "shocking" as anything the punk movement proper has produced since.
