About THE BOYZ
Artist Biography
A K-pop boy group formed in 2017, The Boyz (더보이즈, in Korean) began their musical career with 12 members. Their early tracks—such as “Boy,” “Giddy Up,” “Right Here,” “LIP GLOSS,” and “Bloom Bloom”—introduced The Boyz to the fourth-generation K-pop scene as a bright, boy-next-door group, but their persona and musical style would expand over the years. With 2021’s “MAVERICK,” The Boyz embraced an edgier, attitude-driven sound that would continue with tracks like “WHISPER” and “TRIGGER.” Other notable The Boyz tracks include “No Air,” “The Stealer,” “THRILL RIDE,” and “ROAR.”
In 2020, The Boyz built on their initial success by competing on the group survival competition show, Road to Kingdom. Buoyed by the support of their fandom, called The B (or Deobi), The Boyz finished first, securing an opportunity to compete in the 2021 sequel show Kingdom: Legendary War, alongside groups like BTOB, Stray Kids, iKon, and ATEEZ. In 2023, The Boyz launched the “Phantasy” trilogy of albums: Pt. 1 Christmas in August, Pt. 2 Six Sense, and Pt. 3 Love Letter. Each mini album was named after a different film, and explored a different kind of fantasy inspired by the cinematic subject. In 2024, The Boyz left IST Entertainment after the expiration of their contracts. The 11-member group—consisting at that time of members Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, New, Q, Ju Haknyeon, Sunwoo, and Eric—signed on to continue their K-pop idol work as The Boyz at One Hundred Entertainment.
