Hailing from the Bronx, the Blues Magoos were one of the earliest American psychedelic bands, coming up in the Greenwich Village club scene of the mid-1960s. They released their first album, PSYCHEDELIC LOLLIPOP, in 1966, and it spawned their signature song, “(We Ain't Got) Nothin' Yet.” The original band split up a couple of years later as public interest waned, but a revamped version of the group continued recording up through the mid-'70s.
