Artist Biography
A New York duo whose mix of gritty, soulful alt-rock and slick hip-hop beats earned them a loyal following and major record contract in 2017, the Blancos represent the work of musicians Cory Hueston and Jayson Robbins.
The two friends began making music together in the late-00's, honing a sound that pulled influences from grunge, hard rock, and hip-hop and eventually culminated in their 2014 debut EP, Heartless Romantic. A second EP, Broken Kids, followed in 2016, and they soon caught the ear of Universal imprint Lava Records, which signed the Blancos in late 2017. Their debut for the label was 2018's "Know My Name," a swaggering, bluesy rock and soul single with a modern aesthetic. Their follow-up single, "We're Tired," was a collaboration with rapper Joyner Lucas that earned them more widespread exposure and was widely streamed. ~ Timothy Monger
