∙ David and Howard Bellamy broke through when Jim Stafford’s “Spiders & Snakes”—a song written by David—became one of 1974’s biggest hits.
∙ The duo’s 1976 debut single, “Let Your Love Flow,” was an international smash, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topping the charts in several other countries.
∙ “If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me” hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles chart in 1979, kicking off a run of more than two dozen Top 10 songs.
∙ Their 1985 single “Old Hippie” was included in Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 Greatest Country Songs of All Time.
