Mexican threesome Tex Tex became involved in the Latin rock scene in 1986, making their debut with the release of an independent album called Un Toque Mágico in 1989, followed by Perdidos and Tex Tex 3 in 1992. Their combination of rock and Latin rhythms such as Cuban son, Jamaican ska, and Mexican corrido attracted the attention of BMG. That label signed them in 1994, issuing Te Vas A Acordar de Mi and Súbete al Tren. Nevertheless, Tex Tex self-produced Acción y Reacción soon after, remaining as an independent outfit. ~ Drago Bonacich
