Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest music memories is sitting in the backseat of my dad’s car while Prince and Sade played. I didn’t understand the words, but I understood the feeling.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Frank Ocean, Blonde George Harrison, All Things Must Pass (2014 Remaster) Marvin Gaye, What's Going On Remastered All Things Must Pass by George Harrison—I found it later, but it hit deep. I felt like George, going solo and losing friends. Blonde by Frank, some of the best songwriting of my generation. What’s Going On by Marvin Gaye timeless, better every listen
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “STRICTLY ON MY JOB (feat. Bailey Daniel)” I love this song. I wrote it on the bus when I first moved to LA, riding back and forth between my apartment and my job. One night after work, I heard the beat, came up with the chorus on the ride, and recorded it as soon as I got home.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The most memorable moment of my career was getting my song synced on Will Trent on ABC. I was walking through Silver Lake, passing Erewhon's to look at an apartment when it aired. In that moment, I realized anything is possible.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I won’t share too much of my bucket list, but there’s plenty on it. One goal is building a core community that spreads love and joy through my songs and art.
