Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I cannot describe my earliest memory of music in detail, but I can share with you that as a result of my chronic illness, I experience some level of memory loss. I can also share that I learned to play violin as a child. I can no longer play violin.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Billie Holiday, Solitude God Help the Girl, God Help the Girl (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) dodie, Build A Problem A person cannot simply choose their top three all-time favourite albums, and then explain it in 250 characters. That is a cruel and sadistic thing to ask of someone. Here, however, are three albums that I love dearly for a large variety of reasons.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “A Tyrant's Demise” A Tyrant’s Demise was a project of many firsts for me. Lyrically, I was exploring my queerness for the first time, and unpacking my relationship to romantic relationships. Musically, I was entering into a new genre. This song was pivotal for me.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? In 2023, music journalist Teri Woods proposed a festival lineup of indie musicians (one of which was me!). Soon after, Cayt W and Teri teamed up to launch an annual charity livestream featuring these artists. It's a joy every year to take part in!
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would absolutely love to go on a chronic-illness friendly, COVID-cautious tour someday! It's something I think about a lot.
