In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. It was probably playing the recorder in kindergarten and struggling to make sense of it. I didn’t like it at all, but looking back, maybe that was the first sign that my love for music would take a very different path.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Calvin Harris, 18 Months Michael Jackson, Thriller Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi, Tuku Music These are my favorite albums because they each represent a different musical era and genre that shaped my taste and creativity.—MJ's timeless pop perfection, Calvin Harris' electrifying dance anthems, and Tuku's soulful storytelling.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Imbokodo (Tapiwa, Simbai Remix)” I remember hearing 'AEIOU' way back in high school and absolutely fell in love with Novuyo as an artist. At some point hoping I could make something with her. Fast forward a decade, and I’m making a remix for her. Life is crazy.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing my first big show was an unforgettable moment. The vibe was raw, electric, and filled with so much energy—it felt like the entire crowd was moving as one. Stepping onto that stage, hearing the crowd cheering my name. It felt so surreal.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Winning a Grammy and playing Coachella are at the top of my bucket list. The idea of having my music recognized on that level and performing in front of one of the most electrifying festival crowds in the world drives me every day.
