T_A_M is the pseudonym of Thomas Emslie, an electronic producer from Aberdeen, Scotland. His sharp, angular bass tones are clearly informed by grime, but there's a bit more of a club-focused propulsion to his tracks. While some of his tracks are quite playful, such as the single "Watty," others are more sullen and reflective. His first tracks appeared digitally in 2013. Juke/jungle hybrid "Chim Richalds"/"Power Cologne" (co-produced by Zubuntu) appeared on Japanese netlabel Sabacan Records, with "Midgar"/"Roze" following on Tuff Wax soon after. Initially released digitally near the end of 2013, T_A_M's debut EP, Tail Snap, was released on cassette by Apothecary Compositions in early 2014. 2015 saw the release of two digital EPs from T_A_M: the more club-centered Damned If I Do on Tuff Wax and the more melancholy There All Is Aching, which was self-issued. U.K. dance label Coyote Records released club cut "Watty" in early 2016. This was soon followed by T_A_M's first full-length, the more personal, experimental In Tandem on Apothecary Compositions. ~ Paul Simpson
