Steve Hillage, of prog rock band Gong, released several solo albums during the late '70s and early '80s, and returned in the '90s to form System 7. He released the single "Sunburst" in 1990, and followed with a self-titled album in 1991. During 1992, Hillage released the singles "Freedom Fighters" and "Altitude." System 7's next project was issued in America as a two-disc set (as 777) in 1994. The group worked with Derrick May and Carl Craig to record 1996's Power of Seven. System 7 returned in 1997 with Golden Section. Seventh Wave and Mysterious Traveller arrived in 2002, followed by 2006's Encantado and Live Transmissions. ~ John Bush
