Sunroof is the long-running but elusive collaboration between producer/engineer Gareth Jones and Mute Records founder Daniel Miller. Together, they make spacy abstractions informed by Krautrock, synth pop, and early electronic music. The duo have mainly used the project name for remixes and covers of material by artists such as Can, Neu!, and To Rococo Rot, dating back to the 1990s. Sunroof's first release of original material, Electronic Music Improvisations, Vol. 1, arrived in 2021, and two additional volumes respectively followed in 2023 and 2024.
