Artist Biography
Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Steffaloo began making intimate lo-fi acoustic bedroom recordings shortly after relocating from Boulder, Colorado. Using just her guitar and the built-in mike on her MacBook, she put together a collection of hushed indie folk songs that would eventually comprise Meet Me in Montauk (2011). Around that time she chanced into a collaboration with chillwave artist Blackbird Blackbird, a move that would send her down clearly divergent artistic paths. Steffaloo recorded her second album, Would You Stay, which was released in 2012. Her work with Blackbird Blackbird led to other collaborations in the electronic world. Embracing this new style, Steffaloo set upon recording her third full-length and entirely electronic Heart Beats, which came out in 2013. ~ Timothy Monger
