Initially known as All $tar Cashville Prince, rapper Starlito recorded for Cash Money Records in the ’00s before finding his lane as an independent artist the following decade.
• Raised in East Nashville, he got his start selling CDs to classmates at Tennessee State University.
• While known as All $tar, he gained national exposure with his feature on Jeezy’s club-rocking 2005 single “Grey Goose,” also featuring Yo Gotti. Lil Wayne gave All $tar props on the remix.
• On the strength of “Grey Goose” and other underground hits, All $tar landed a deal with Yo Gotti’s Inevitable Entertainment and later Cash Money.
• Starlito nearly gave up music after Cash Money shelved his debut album, Street Ball, but he decided to press on as an indie artist.
• In 2011, after nearly a decade in music, the rechristened Starlito partnered with Memphis rapper Don Trip for the acclaimed Step Brothers mixtape.
• Via his own Grind Hard label, the prolific Starlito has released dozens of mixtapes and albums. In 2013, he made the Billboard 200 with three projects: Cold Turkey, Fresh Turkey, and Step Brothers 2.
• Starlito has benefited from high-profile feature work, guesting on tracks like Kevin Gates “MYB” (2013) and Lil Baby’s “Exotic” (2018).
