About Soul Clap
Artist Biography
Boston-based DJs, producers, and label owners Soul Clap play an eclectic variety of house music that leans heavily toward vintage disco and electro-funk influences. First surfacing during the late 2000s with a series of tech-house singles and edits of pop and R&B songs, the pair began collaborating with kindred spirits Wolf + Lamb, and a 2011 joint collaboration as part of the DJ-Kicks mix series raised both duo's profiles. Subsequent guest-heavy releases such as Efunk: The Album (2012) and Soul Clap (2016) paid loving tribute to '80s and '90s R&B and house while keeping an experimental edge. They've formed alliances with legends such as George Clinton and Nona Hendryx, remixed acts like Laid Back and Little Dragon, and have become staples of dance festivals throughout the world. Active into the 2020s, the duo have continued exploring garage, rave, and R&B influences on releases like 2021's WTF (World Transformation Force).
