In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
My mom always tells the story of how as a little kid, when I'd get angry I would quietly close my bedroom door and practice guitar. That was how I dealt with the outside world then, and making music is still how I deal with the outside world today. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin (Remastered)
Radiohead, Kid A
Ryuichi Sakamoto, Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence
Led Zeppelin was my first musical love, Kid A was the gateway for me to listen to electronic music, and Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence is very possibly the reason I make film music for a living today. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Vorar”
Vorar means "becoming spring" in my native language Icelandic. The track represents the slowness of winter coming to an end and the return of life, birds and flowing rivers once the tempo picks up. Plus it's my wife's favourite song of mine!
