About Slushii
Artist Biography
DJ and producer Slushii has created a unique brand of electronic music incorporating sugary pop and gritty bass drops.
• Growing up in New Jersey, Slushii (real name: Julian Scanlon) was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. The developmental disorder made it difficult for him to connect with others socially, and he turned to music as a means of emotional expression.
• The Slushii project was born after the SoundCloud account he’d created under the name DJ Swoon—a vehicle for dubstep and electro—was deleted. He regrouped as Slushii, and within months, his bass-heavy neon-pop had earned millions of streams.
• In 2017, his effervescent single “Luv U Need U” was released on Monstercat for use in the video game Rocket League. It’s earned more than 8 million video views.
• Later in 2017, Slushii self-released his debut album, Out of Light.
• His next three albums—Dream, Dream II, and Dream III—tell an emotional story in three parts. He created sapientdream, a new alias, for the projects.
• Slushii works very closely with Marshmello, who’s signed to the same management company. The friends have collaborated on original songs, remixes, and tours.
