In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I was obsessed with writing poems and songs when I was young. I thought everyone did it. I'd play with an old keyboard I found on the floor, and I taught myself how to play it. I was 12 and the first song I ever wrote was called Move On...
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Air, The Virgin Suicides (Original Motion Picture Score) Alexandra Savior, Belladonna of Sadness Yelle, L'Ère du Verseau These albums take me to another world. I'm so deeply connected to the stories and the sonic universe the artists have created. The balance between electronica and organic sounds, the melodies are haunting and simple. I feel closer to inspiration.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Freakshow” This was the first song that set me on a new path as an artist. It was unexpected and dangerous, but I think it perfectly summed up my influences and where I saw myself heading. It's set the tone for everything moving forward.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? It's hard to choose... playing Glastonbury last year felt so right. I felt so ready for that opportunity. Moving to London has been so life changing. I've never felt more inspired and more seen creatively. There really is something for everyone.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? One day, I'd like to write a James Bond song... Ever since Casino Royale it's been the ultimate goal.
