Sibling tech-house duo Shermanology draw on inspiration from classic deep house, Soul II Soul, U.K. garage, and their upbringing on the Dutch Caribbean island of Curaçao. Andy and Dorothy Sherman, both of whom DJ, produce, and sing, have been active as Shermanology since 2008, when they debuted as featured collaborators on "3 Minutes to Explain," a single headlined by Fedde Le Grand and Funkerman. They scored their first of several charting singles in Belgium the next year with the Funkerman collaboration "Automatic," and soon played more to their individual strengths, with Andy focusing on production, while Dorothy's strong, gospel-inspired vocals were pushed to the forefront. They went on to record singles for labels like Defected, Wall, and Spinnin', and in the 2020s have made dancefloor connections with Busta Rhymes, Todd Edwards, and Boyz II Men, among many others. Their highly percussive 2025 single "Beat of the Drum" cleverly quoted Kelis.
