About Sharon Forrester
Artist Biography
After performing to tourists on the north coast of Jamaica, Sharon Forrester was introduced to Geoffrey Chung of the band Now Generation. Impressed with her vocal range, he took her to the U.K. to complete the album Sharon. She also tried her hand at acting, starring in the film Moon Over the Alley. Her big break came on the British television program Aquarius, where she performed a stirring take on George Harrison’s "Here Comes the Sun." In 1994, the electronica movement brought the lovers rock diva into the public eye -- Forrester performed "Love Inside" over a jungle rhythm for FFRR Records. Her decades-in-the-making second record, This Time, appeared in 1996 to quiet acclaim. She also contributed backing vocals for Burning Spear, Jimmy Cliff, and Alpha Blondy, among others. ~ Rovi Staff
