Formed in 2011, SHAED is an alternative trio influenced by electro-pop and indie-rock.
∙ Before joining SHAED, vocalist Chelsea Lee was originally signed as a solo artist and worked with Grammy-producing writer and producer Martin Terefe.
∙ The band formed after a chance meeting at a local venue in Washington, D.C., and named themselves SHAED after a cloak in Patrick Rothfuss’ fantasy book The Name of the Wind.
∙ MELT, their 2018 major debut, reached the Billboard 200 and peaked at No. 1 on the Heatseekers Albums chart.
∙ In 2018, “Trampoline” made the Billboard Hot 100 and was No. 1 hit on the Alternative Songs chart—the first time a woman-fronted group topped that list since 2003.
∙ The band simultaneously was listed on Billboard’s Emerging Artists and Next Big Sound charts in 2019, peaking at No. 1 on both.
∙ Nominated for three iHeartRadio Music Awards in 2020, SHAED won two, including Best New Alternative/Rock Artist and Best Remix for “Trampoline,” featuring Zayn.
Members of SHAED include, or have included, Chelsea Lee.
