Hailing from London, England, Sea Girls make dizzying alt-pop anthems bursting with wall-shaking exuberance. Formed in 2015, the band trade in the same kind of bright, Killers-style pop-rock that gained popularity in the early 2000s. Their debut, 2017’s Call Me Out EP, established the band’s talent for songcraft, delivering driving rhythms and massive choruses on songs like the synth-propelled title track and the loud-quiet-loud “Favourite Colour.” The record turned them into BBC favorites, and their two 2018 EPs, Heavenly War and Adored, made good on their early promise with exhilarating walls of guitar on “Lost” and dreamier atmospheric textures on “Adored.” In 2019, they laid into a slicker, stadium-suited rock sound on the bold “Damage Done,” and 2020 saw them chasing an uplifting, neon-light-bright vibe on songs like “Do You Really Wanna Know?” from their debut full-length, Open Up Your Head. Their second LP, 2022’s Homesick, reflected the darkness of life during the pandemic.

The Last Dinner Party’s Prelude to Ecstasy: What's not to love about this album! We love covering Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” live. And “Pictures of Us” from Beatopia is a song to watch the leaves fall off the trees. Love it!
