After first garnering attention for the fierce feminist rap of 2017’s “Count’em Off (Rant),” Toronto’s Savannah Ré reemerged as an arty R&B auteur on her 2020 debut album Opia, a heady meditation on intimacy and spirituality. The album was shortlisted for Canada’s Polaris Music Prize in 2021, and featured the JUNO-nominated "Where You Are” and the JUNO-winning “Solid” (for Traditional R&B/Soul Recording of the Year). Her song “Last One,” a collaboration with Dylan Sinclair from 2022’s No Weapons EP, won another JUNO for Traditional R&B/Soul Recording of the Year.
