In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
In 2001 I saw Bob Dylan in an arena and David Alan Coe in a listening room - great songwriters in two different venues. I was inspired by regardless the size of the venue people came to hear the songs they were singing, and they were listening. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Lee Dorsey, Yes We Can ...And Then Some
Leon Russell, Leon Live (Remastered)
Ray Charles, Modern Sounds In Country and Western Music, Vols. 1 & 2
Leon Live—an exhilarating intro to one of the best '70s live albums. Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music by Ray Charles redefined how I approach covers. Yes We Can by Lee Dorsey is pure joy, with Toussaint’s songs and The Meters' groove. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“One and the Same”
One and the Same was the first song when I started playing around with an electric guitar and amps...it spawned the soundscape and vibe that is my third album title, Loversity. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
Supporitng/opening for Chris Stapleton at The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville in 2015. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
