Sakurako Ohara is a Japanese pop singer and actress who has appeared in musical theater, TV shows, and films.
∙ She won Best New Actress at the Japan Movie Critics Awards for her 2013 debut in The Liar and His Lover, in which she fronted the fictional band MUSH&Co.
∙ In 2014, she received New Artist honors at the Japan Record Awards, the country’s equivalent of the Grammys.
∙ Her debut album, 2015’s Happy, featured the hits “Thank You” and “Hitomi” and rose to No. 2 on the Japanese charts.
∙ Ohara played Medium Alison in the 2018 Japanese premiere of the Broadway musical Fun Home at the New National Theatre Tokyo.
